Linda Hamilton Back for CHUCK Finale

Just the mere fact the Chuck series finale is the last episode of the series is enough to make it seem more epic than it probably has any right being, but now news has broke Linda Hamilton will reprise her role as Mary Bartowski, Chuck’s mom, for the finale. Having Hamilton back is the best news I’ve heard in some time for the series. Cool guest stars are a Chuck staple, but few of them can match up to the sheer amount of badassery that oozes from Hamilton. The two-hour final episode is set to air January 27 and will be titled “Chuck Versus the Goodbye”.

TV Guide reported the casting, adding executive producer Chris Fedak’s refusal to give away any information on Mary’s return. Apparently even the smallest tidbit would ruin the whole series. I guess her appearance will be directly tied to the main mystery of the season. I’m totally fine with being in the dark. I like surprises, especially when they’re actually surprising. Whatever the plans are for Mary, I’m sure they’ll be up to par.

The show recently finished filming the finale’s final scene, which as you can imagine turned in to an emotional moment for the cast and crew. “There were a lot of tears,” Fedak said. “It was a very dramatic, tear-filled experience. We have been cherishing each day as we’ve neared the end.” It may be sad, but at the same time everyone involved must be filled with joy over being given the chance to finish this series properly.
