Lindsay Lohan Playboy Record Breaking According to Hef

Are people really willing to shell out money to see Lindsay Lohan naked? According to Hugh Hefner, the answer is yes, with the Playboy creator reporting that Lohan’s mag is breaking sales records.

I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of a nude LiLo to begin with and you’d think magazine sales would be hurt by Lohan’s Playboy pictures leaking online recently, but Hef shared via Twitter that that the January/February issue is breaking sales records. Of course, Hef has been doing his part by retweeting messages such as “Lindsay I knew you were beautiful but didn’t realize how much until your playboy issue. Sexy & tasteful!” that have been shared by some of Lohan’s fans on the social media site.

You wouldn’t really expect Hef to make an announcement about sales sucking but a Playboy rep has added that sales of the issue “are doing well,” although no numbers have been released yet and ‘doing well’ seems like a tame understatement if the mag was really breaking records. Isn’t that the kind of news a person would normally be happy to share it? Why is Hef the only one sharing it?

With Lohan’s Playboy pics already being available for free online, it’s hard for me to believe the issue with her pictorial is doing so well. Are people buying it for possible collector value? Will Lindsay Lohan really be worth that much later on? I’m still shocked that the bunny mag forked over close to a million dollars for her in the first place so I guess anything’s possible.
