Meet GRIMM’s Hansel and Gretel

Scoot over Rapunzel. Watch your back Snow White. Hansel and Gretel are the fairy tale rock stars in the spotlight now. First on Boomtron we featured a first look at actors Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton in costume on the set of their upcoming fantasy/ horror flick, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters. Now that dazzling new series, Grimm, on NBC, will also feature the infamous siblings. They’ll be younger for the TV series, which is what we’re accustomed to when it comes to the fairy tale anyway.

Set in modern day Portland, Grimm follows Nick Burkhardt and Hank Griffin, a couple of homicide detectives. Nick is actually belonging to a mystical lineage, which means it is his job to be a watchdog against supernatural creatures. Unfortunately, those supernatural beings are already loose among us.

According to EW, “Organ Grinder” is the title of an upcoming episode. That could potentially be really gross. This episode will feature Hansel and Gretel. Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara will act as Hansel and Hannah Marks, of USA’s Necessary Roughness, will be the show’s Gretel.

Wondering what the modern spin will be? Well, for Grimm the two youngsters will be homeless and minding their own business of day to day survival until they are targeted by some most unsavory black marketeers in the business of human organ dealing. Oh my! Will you be watching?
