Misha makes a SUPERNATURAL Return
Thank the heavens; Misha Collins has finally been confirmed to be returning to the set of Supernatural for at least three additional episodes this season. This news could not have come at a better time, what with fan favorite Bobby (Jim Beaver) biting the dust in the midseason finale last week. The absence of one is hard enough, but to have lost both wonderful actors in one season may have been a little over kill (or just what the Winchesters needed to kick their butts into revenge gear).
But as TVLine reported, we will get Collins, at least in some form. It would be in all of our best interests if we assume he will not be playing Castiel, but something else. The best bet is the Leviathan that took over Castiel’s vessel in the premiere. Now that we’re all braced for inevitable lack of Castiel, we can appreciate simply having Collins back. As I recall, I rather enjoyed his brief time as a Leviathan. It was quirky and completely unlike Castiel, which was a nice change.
“It has always been our intention to bring back Misha in some form,” executive producer Sera Gamble said. “We certainly can’t say too much about where the story is going to go, but we love Misha and want to continue to work with him.” As I mentioned, Collins will return for three episodes, beginning with Episode 17, with the possibility for more. I’ll have my fingers crossed for as many episodes as possible. In the mean time, Collins will be guest starring in fellow CW series, Ringer, sometime in the near future.
