More BBC Sherlock Season 2 Promo Images

It’s seems like just yesterday I was getting jazzed over the latest video teaser for Steven Moffat’s Sherlock from BBC, and now my excitement can continue to grow with the promotional release of several new images from the second series’ three episode run. The images are quite careful so as not to reveal anything too spoilery. In fact, I would say you could gather very little of what’s to come for Sherlock Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) simply by studying these pictures. Then again, if you’re half as good a detective as Mr. Holmes, you might notice something I didn’t.

They come from the upcoming episodes “A Scandal in Belgravia”, “The Hounds of Baskerville” and “The Reichenbach Fall” to air on January 1, 8 and 15 respectively. We have some iconic characters being adapted for this modern take of Holmes. In “Belgravia”, Lara Pulver is portraying Irene Adler, Holmes own femme fatale. And in “Reichenbach”, Andrew Scott plays Holmes’ nemesis, Moriarty, best seen in this second set of images. With the recent release of the movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, it will be interesting to compare the film’s version of these characters to the series’.

Rounding out the cast featured in the images, we have Russell Tovey as Sir Henry Baskerville and writer Mark Gatiss reprising his role as Mycroft, Sherlock’s brother. Sitting down and watching Sherlock should be a fantastic way to start the New Year.
