NFL Super Bowl Goes Vogue with Material Girl

Madonna Super Bowl NFL

When the time comes for all your friends to gather around the TV with beer and wings for Super Bowl XLVI, you can look forward to a half-time show unlike any other you’ve ever seen. It was recently announced, via the video embedded below, the headlining act to go on during half-time will be the legendary Madonna. Now, I know she’s more of a woman’s act and historically more men watch the Super Bowl than women (although that’s changing pretty rapidly), but she’s so iconic you’d have to be crazy not to at least appreciate her music.

This will be her first time playing during half-time, and the big question on my mind is, “What will she play?” This is an artist with decades of material to choose from. She could go with all her older, more popular songs, or try out her newer ones that we’re not as familiar with. Personally, I’d much rather hear “Material Girl” than “Miles Away”. It’s no secret Madonna is the main inspiration for Lady Gaga’s crazy sense of fashion, so will Madonna make an attempt to dress up for her act? It would be nice if she reminded the public she was here wearing wacky costumes long before Gaga.

Are you okay with Madonna playing half-time? Do you have any specific songs you want to hear her sing? If you could choose any musical act in the world, who would you have headlining other than Madonna? I think I would choose some comparatively unknown band that can put on a sick a show.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
