Once Upon a Time Lands Dwarf Loving Amy Acker
There looks to be some fairy tale loving for a certain grumpy dwarf in an upcoming episode of Once Upon a Time, which will feature Angel and Dollhouse’s Amy Acker. The frequent Joss Whedon collaborator will guest star as a romantic interest for Lee Arenberg’s Leroy, who also happens to be the real-world counterpart for Grumpy, famously of the Seven Dwarves. Now, I’m not a stick in the mud for accuracy to the original fairy tales (and let’s face it, Disney heavily altered them anyway), but I don’t recall Grumpy having a sweetheart.
The way TVLine tells it Acker’s character will appear in both the fairy tale world and Storybrooke, but may only interact with one of Arenberg’s characters. More importantly, we have no idea who she might be playing. I’m all for a dwarf finding love, but all this not knowing is killing me! Will this infatuation be one-side? It’s a likely outcome since Grumpy is so… well, grumpy. I suppose we’ll just have to wait for more information to come out about the episode, which is set to air late in the winter.
This isn’t the first actress to have worked on a Whedon series to grace the sets of Once Upon a Time. Emma Caufield has already been cast as the Blind Witch from the Hanzel and Gretel story. Her story will be told in full during the January 15 episode. Caufield is best known for her time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
