Spartacus: Vengeance Begins!

The next installment of Starz’ popular sword-and-sandals adventure will be invading the small screen soon and Spartacus: Vengeance gets back into the groove with Spartacus making his triumphant and bloody return to the series that has his name.

Liam McIntyre is the main man this time and it looks like he does a decent job of making the role of Spartacus his own in this new trailer for the series. The first minute or so of the video clip from IGN has McIntyre sharing his views on the upcoming season and he does a pretty good job of sharing Spartacus’ thought process in Vengeance.

After the brief intro, the video gets down to business, showing Spartacus trying to outrun soldiers on horseback. Finally deciding he’s taking part in a footrace he can’t win, the determined warrior turns and prepares for battle, which really isn’t good news for the bad guys. The pursuers soon see things go from bad to worse when they realize Spartacus isn’t alone. If you get a little squeamish with the red, sticky stuff flying around then you probably will want to take a pass on the preview because things get bloody in a big way, and a lot of the action is captured in slow motion just to make sure you don’t miss any of the mayhem.

Spartacus: Vengeance debuts on Starz on January 27, 2012.
