The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe Prequel

Doctor Who is up to his sonic screwdriver in trouble again and there’s nobody around to help him. This little prequel for The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe doesn’t really explain how the Doctor gets set up for his Christmas adventure but it’s still an exciting snippet from the time lord’s life.

A huge spaceship is headed to Earth with plans of destroying our humble little planet and only Doctor Who can save the day… but who can save the Doctor? Fortunately, the intrepid time traveler has a plan. Unfortunately, there are three very big problems that keep the plan from working.

While this prequel clip does a decent job of providing my Doctor Who fix while I wait for the Christmas special, I hope The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe fills in a few more gaps. I’d love to find out how the Doctor ended up with his finger on the big, red button and I’d really like to find out how he gets through this explosive predicament.

A little holiday touch is added at the very end when the Doctor wishes Amelia a Merry Christmas but that’s the only Christmas link to be found in this little micro-adventure.

The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe airs on Christmas Day at 7:00 PM GMT in the UK on BBC One and 9:00 PM EST/PST in the US on BBC America!
