VALIANT Comics First Look Coming!

Valiant Comics

2012 might be a Valiant year for comic fans as the once-popular comic book line gets ready to dust itself off in preparation for a brand new debut.

Valiant’s Chief Creative Officer, Dinesh Shamdasani, got Valiant fans buzzing when he started a new thread titled “Thanks for being patient. Valiant 2012 is almost here” on the Valiantfan.com boards, according to deathmatewitness.com.

“In one week, you’ll get your first real look at what VALIANT 2012 will be,” Shamdasani says in the forum post. “I’m excited for you all to see it. I know you’re going to like it. We’ve worked long and hard to get here and it shows.”

Valiant fans have had their faith tested numerous times throughout the bumpy existence of the comic title, with the Valiant universe undergoing various transformations as the title changed hands and direction during its run.

Now, with a new set of hands at the helm, Valiant is ready to take on the comic world one more time and offer a little variety to those that are a little tired of the same old routine offered by the likes of Marvel and DC.

While we’ll have to wait a little while longer to see what the new Valiant has in store for us, it’s probably safe to say what the revived comic won’t have in the new year. In 2005, the rights to the Valiant and Acclaim original characters (Archer and Armstrong, Rai, Quantum, Woody etc.) were auctioned off, and the rights to the three licensed characters (Solar, Magnus and Turok) reverted to Random House, which currently owns Western Publishing and Gold Key Comics properties.
