Vanessa Hudgens and the Rock Posted up in JOURNEY 2

You may have heard it here first that Vanessa Hudgens, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Hunger Games star, Josh Hutcherson, are gearing up for the release of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. In our effort to keep you in the know, we can now unveil the latest poster art for the project. Check out the images now.

The Dark Knight and Inception actor Michael Caine, Luis Guzmán and Kristin Davis also round out the cast for the rip-roaring action adventure, which is scheduled for a February 10th release date. In poster one, fans get a nice look at action star, The Rock, muscles and all, with a clean shaven head and a hungry looking, quite enormous reptile behind him. The movie will be available in 3D and there’s a volcano in the distance.

I guess Journey to the Center of the Earth didn’t pack in enough danger for our hero, acted by Hutcherson. Instead of going into the depths with actor Brenden Fraser, it will be The Rock this time, acting as Hutcherson’s mother’s boyfriend, who will take the wild ride alongside him, in search of the young man’s missing grandfather, acted by Caine.

In poster two, also in this crop which comes from Yahoo! Movies, Vanessa Hudgens steps into the shoes of an action heroine. Scoot over, Laura Croft. You want her to swing from a rope, chased by giant killer bees? Not a problem, apparently. My only problem with this poster is the awkward air-brushing. Half the poor girl’s body is pointing right, while the bottom half is depicted straight forward. There’s just something very unnatural about it. Let’s hope the film’s 3D effects are better.

In another poster Hutcherson swims for his life from an over-sized electric eel. Even “grandpa” Caine has a poster. He looks like quite to explorer. Enjoy!
