Winter is Coming in GAME OF THRONES RPG

Game of Thrones Red Priest Cyanide Studios George R.R. Martin

Judging from the snow falling in the new trailer for Cyanide Studio’s Game of Thrones RPG, winter isn’t just coming; it’s here. Fortunately, it looks like there’s plenty of action to keep you warm.

Don’t roll your eyes at the latest digital adventure in the land of Westeros if Game of Thrones: Genesis didn’t turn you on because Cyanide’s contribution to gaming looks like it will be something completely different. Based on a storyline that A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin collaborated on, the game focuses on a Black Brother and a Red Priest, two brand new characters created just for the game.

The trailer shows some great graphics and provides a feel for how the game looks but there aren’t any samples of actual gameplay and the action itself is sort of lacking… unless you count a whole lot of running as action. While there’s no doubt about the game looking pretty, I’d love to see another trailer roll out that shows the actual game in action.

Game of Thrones: The RPG is supposed to be released in early 2012, which might possibly provide enough time for Skyrim fans to decide their up for trying something else. Of course, GoT and every other RPG game headed our way could simply be eclipsed by the awesomeness of Skyrim.

Check out the trailer and see for yourself. Will you be giving the Game of Thrones RPG a try?
