Zac Efron in LUCKY ONE trailer

The Lucky One began as a Nicholas Sparks novel and like so many of those, has now become a major motion picture project. I must say I’m looking forward to seeing this film. I don’t know if Mr. Zac Efron will be able to carry such a grown up role, but like Taylor Lautner before him, the young actor has put on some muscle that will have the ladies swooning.

The Lucky One begins in Iraq, when Efron’s character stumbles across a photo of a woman that becomes his lucky charm. Once he returns stateside, he vows to find the woman in the picture, the woman, he says, has saved his life. Is actress Taylor Schilling that woman? She must be, because Logan, Efron’s character, sticks around until they both begin falling for each other, despite the complications of her having a young son, and an ex that looks fairly aggressive. But how did her photo wind up in Iraq? And how will she react knowing her affair with Logan was no accident?

The film, much of which takes place in the South, will debut 20 April 2012.
