FRINGE Adds “Memorable” Villain

Michael Massee Fringe Fox

There’s no rest in sight for the gang on Fringe because the FOX sci-fi drama is bringing on Michael Massee to show everybody just how dangerous loneliness can be.

Massee, who has appaered on Rizzoli & Isles, FlashForward, and 24 has been tapped to play “one of the most memorable guest bad guys” that has ever been on Fringe, according to TVGuide. That’s a pretty bold statement, considering everything that both our universe and the alterate universe has thrown at Olivia, Peter, and Walter.

There aren’t any specific details on the character at the moment but executive producer J.H. Wyman revealed that Massee’s story revolves around a “terrifying journey with a man pushed to the limits by intense loneliness.” It seems like Walter sort of touched on that subject before in regards to Peter, but our Walter could never be considered a villain, and Massey might have something more sinister than inter-dimensional kidnapping planned.

It’s still unknown if Massee will be a recurring character or if this is just a one-shot deal, but it seems like it would be kind of lame to have such a memorable villain only appear once, although in the world of Fringe, memorable could also mean going out in an unimaginable blaze of glory.
An exact air date hasn’t been scheduled yet but Massee is expected to appear this season in Episode 15.
