Hawaii 5-0 and NCIS Sweep Combo
A big crossover event is being planned for two of CBS’s best crime procedurals: Hawaii Five-0 and NCIS: LA. The two-part crossover will air during the May sweeps, where it will start on a Monday night during Hawaii and conclude Tuesday on NCIS: LA. This won’t be the first bit of cross-pollination the two series have done, with NCIS: LA’s Daniela Ruah having appeared in a 2011 episode of Hawaii.
The plot of the crossover will see a outbreak of a deadly virus that is possibly being used as a weapon. My guess is the outbreak begins in Hawaii and will spread to Los Angeles, but there’s likely more to it than that. The crossover was announced at the Television Critics Association press tour, along with details of the original NCIS’ upcoming 200th episode, one of the most impressive landmarks in television. Word from EW.com claims the cast had a heartfelt time reminiscing the past nine years on the show.
Executive producer Greg Glasberg broke down what we can expect from the 200th episode, which will be titled “Life Before His Eyes.” It will be a very reflective episode. After a “pivotal” moment at the beginning of the episode for Mark Harmon’s Gibbs (it’s implied by video footage that he will be shot), we are taken on a journey through the past nine years of NCIS as we take a look at certain moments and see what might have happened if the characters had made different decisions. A ton of familiar faces will turn up during these “flashbacks.” It sounds like it could be quite an emotional ride and I’m excited to see if it plays out as well as it sounds.
