Kiefer Sutherland Touches on “24″ Movie Details
Is there really going to be a 24 movie? Actor Kiefer Sutherland is planning on it. If there is going to be one, production will begin sometime this coming April or May.
According to Criminal Complex, the actor confirmed his plans to beging filming the 24 movie during the Television Critics Association winter tour where he was promoting, Touch.
What’s that, you ask? 24 movie aside, the project should give Kiefer even more cause to be excited. He’ll be working on the brand new series called Touch for creator Tim Kring and the Fox network. Touch will offer the actor a touch of the supernatural. Kiefer will star in the series that examines his character’s life after losing his wife during the 9/11 attacks. His son, Jake, is both autistic and mute, and also a savant when it comes to numbers. He seems to have the gift of predicting the future. Danny Glover co-stars as an expert on such special children.
Kiefer has told TV Line that the similarity in his 24 character and his Touch character is that neither man can win the broad war, so to speak. They can win little battles along the way, but Martin, as the father of an autistic child, can’t find some magic cure. He’s got to be in it for the long haul. The 24 actor also called his new series quite emotional.
We will also see Kiefer in the much anticipated Melancholia, starring Kristen Dunst.
So, what more can we tell you about the big 24 film? Kiefer believes it’ll be pretty much a “direct continuation”, following after the events of the series finale. Probably, in fact, no more than about 6 months will have passed at the opening of the film for the character Jack Bauer. When we learn more, you will, too!
