Lea Michele a The Glee Project‘s Season 2 Mentor
Glee’s female lead, Lea Michele, has been asked to appear on The Glee Project‘s second season as a guest mentor. In case you don’t know, The Glee Project is a competitive reality series that gives a group of young hopefuls the chance to appear on Glee next to their favorite stars, such as Michele. The winner of the competition receives a seven-episode arc. For the second season, the number of constestants has been raised from 12 to 14, giving an extra two contestants the chance to appear on Glee.
Michele revealed her mentor position on her Twitter account January 21st. She’ll do the job during the Season 2 premiere, and quite frankly I have zero intent to see this series. To me there’s an oversaturation of Glee in the world right now. And Lea Michele isn’t helping me come to terms with it. The woman is a bombshell. Like, wowza. She’s drop dead gorgeous, but she’s freaking everywhere and I hate it. The show is fine. It’s nowhere near as good as it should be, but it’s watchable. But you can’t deny it’s slowly losing its following, and The Glee Project isn’t doing a great job of keeping the viewers’ attention.
But I’ve crapped on this enough. There is a positive to all this. It’s giving 14 talented people a chance to make it in a tough industry. I’m not necessarily okay with extending the Glee brand, but I’m all for giving people a shot who otherwise wouldn’t have one.
