Listen and Watch Miley Cyrus Cover Dylan
The world of music is about to honor the legendary Bob Dylan. The tribute comes in the shape of a new album called “Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan”. It’ll be a whopper. There will be 76 tracks on this tribute album, and best of all, the proceeds will go to Amnesty International. You can’t beat that, unless of course you’re offering a fresh new music video. Miley Cyrus is doing just that. She covers the Dylan tune, “You’re Going to Make Me Lonesome When You Go”, and because she’s a good sport, she has even made a video to go with the piece.
The 19-year old has put a country flavor on the track, which originally hit as a part of the 1975 album, “Blood on the Tracks”. She also nixes the harmonica for her version of the song. A lonely old house is the setting for the video and it begins with the musicians doing some set up work. I appreciate the impromptu, unpolished atmosphere. I must say, all in all, the video is a pretty one. Feel free to comment with your own opinions, below!
Over 80 artists will come together on the finished album. When you read the names, you can’t help but get excited. You’ll discover Adele, Cage the Elephant, Elvis Costello, Darren Criss, Dave Matthews Band, Ke$ha, Diana Krall, Lenny Kravitz, Kris Kristofferson, Maroon 5, My Chemical Romance, Queens Of The Stone Age, Raphael Saadiq, Seal & Jeff Beck, Sting, Sugarland, and even actress Evan Rachel Wood. And that’s only part of the list. I think it is really great that Dylan’s work will be shared with a new generation.
