Michelle Obama and Miranda Cosgrove in iCarly Teaser
The best publicity a TV show could have is a special guest appearance by America’s First Lady, Michelle Obama, who is set to appear in iCarly‘s January 16th episode, appropriately titled “iMeet the First Lady.” Still, despite the presence of Michelle Obama, there’s still a teaser for the episode, which you can freely view below. It’s just a short minute from a scene in the episode where Carly and co. meet the First Lady for the first time. I just want to point out that SNL’s Taren Killam plays one of her bodyguards. That guy is funny.
In the teaser, the cast does their best to embarrass themselves in front of Michelle, but she’s pretty laid back about it. They are just kids after all, though she does like the sound of being called Your Excellency. The big question on everyone’s minds is, “What is the First Lady doing here talking to us?” Well apparently her daughters are fans of iCarly and so is she, and when she heard that Carly wanted to do something for her soldier father’s birthday and Sam and Freddie decided to help her connect with him, she just had to stop by and tell them how proud she is.
Families staying in touch with family in the military are a big deal for the Obamas and Michelle is there to give the trio the rules for connecting. Unfortunately, to hear that part you’ll have to watch the episode because the teaser ends before Michelle can finish what she’s saying.
