Is Natalie Portman Jupiter Ascending?

After spending some time in anonymous mommyhood, where the feelings of one person in particular are all that really matter, Natalie Portman might be getting ready to hit the big screen again with the Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending.

After snagging the little, gold guy at the Oscars, Portman seemed to be reigning queen of Hollywood, with the power of Black Swan able to open just about any door for the actress. Then, another little guy came along and Portman dropped out of the spotlight to focus on being a parent. It’s a great testament to Portman’s dedication to family but lousy timing when you suddenly find all of Hollywood in the palm of your hand.

Now, Portman might be getting ready to see if she still possesses the Tinsel Town thunder as the LA Times reports that the Oscar-winner might be starring in the science-fiction film, Jupiter Ascending. I say might because the source that revealed Lana and Andy Wachowski’s interest in Portman wasn’t really authorized to talk about these things with the public so no names were given. Yes, it’s the infamous anonymous source, possessing a track record for reliability that isn’t always rock solid. However, I’d say there’s a decent shot at this info being true. Portman worked with the Wachowski’s in the past on V for Vendetta in 2006 so another team-up is definitely possible, and the timing works out too. The Wachowski’s are currently busy with Cloud Atlas so Jupiter Ascending isn’t expected to start production until the fall, which gives Portman plenty of time to enjoy family time for a little while longer.

Meanwhile, Portman is also slated to return in Thor 2, although Marvel hasn’t stated at this time if they’ll move forward with the sequel.
