Nazneen Contractor Beams up to Abrams’ Star Trek 2

You heard it here when a Doctor Who regular was cast in the exciting upcoming sequel to the J.J. Abrams re-imagination of Star Trek. We told you the actor would be playing a family man, though other details were very hard to come by. Well, how is this for a new detail? We know who will play the actor’s on-screen wife.

Yes, Boomtron delivered the news that Noel Clarke, better known as Mickey Smith, the boyfriend of the Ninth and Tenth Doctor’s companion, Rose Tyler, was coming to the set of Star Trek 2. Now we can follow up with this casting morsel. According to EW, actress Nazneen Contractor has just signed the dotted line to act as Clarke’s lady love.

The gorgeous Canadian actress plays Kayla Hassan on the series 24. She’s not the only new name added to the cast of late. Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto will also be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch, Peter Weller, and Alice Eve. Hey, I’ll be excited to see Weller and the Sherlock actor, too! If you are like me you probably can’t wait until some plot details are revealed. I hear rumors that Khan will not be featured in the untitled sequel, but filming should begin sometime this coming fall.
