Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards MC is Will Smith

Will Smith, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

Some youngsters are about to get jiggy with it. Why? Well, a Men in Black actor has officially been invited to host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards. Beware of green slime, Mr. Smith.

That’s right, Will Smith is the newest celebrity chosen to host the awards. The show, complete with it’s fresh new MC will air March 31st.

This year’s broadcast will be something extra special, according to EW. The Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards ceremony is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Marjorie Cohn, the network’s president for original programming and development and an executive producer of the ceremony called Smith the “obvious choice”. She commended the star for being “larger than life” and called him one of the biggest movie stars there is. The show itself should be quite something. In short, she wants it to be a supernova, the biggest “spectacle” in 25 years.

If anyone can deliver, it’s Will Smith, am I right? I wonder if his wife and kids will be along to share in his hosting adventure. That could just be the icing on the cake.

Past shows have included award categories like Favorite Movie, Favorite TV Actor and Actress, Favorite Music Group, Favorite Book, and Favorite Song. The 2011 ceremony was hosted by comedian Jack Black.
