Pulpy Jensen Ackles Goes SUPERNATURAL Noir

Supernatural CW

Have you ever wanted to see Jensen Ackles dressed up like a ‘40s gangster in a straight up homage to the 1987 film, The Untouchables? Well, I know I personally never have, but that doesn’t mean I’m not totally psyched by the idea of it! This Friday, January 13th episode of Supernatural, “Time After Time After Time,” will feature such an homage and it looks incredibly well done. Don’t believe me? Just take a gander at this promo video, embedded down below.

The video comes from EW.com, and I would hope by now you’d have taken a minute to check it out. How badass does Dean look with that tommy gun? And incase you doubted it was a nod at The Untouchables, you can’t deny the large text declaring dean to be “untouchable.” So you’re probably wondering, “Why does Dean appear to be a gangster crime drama?” Well that’s because he has once again pissed off some god and wound up in over his head. You’d think he’d learn, especially after the last time he tangled with a god, but nope.

The God of Time, for whatever reason, zaps Dean back in time to 1944. Back in the present, Sam is fervently searching for a way to get Dean back and seeks the help from an old friend (OMG who is it!?). Supernatural is at it’s best when it does these genre twisty episodes (much like last season’s western themed “Frontierland”). They find a lot of humor in putting these boys in timeframes they are unfamiliar with and I’m excited to see how Dean embarrasses himself before inevitably becoming a machine gun toting badass.
