I’m skeptical of Terra Nova’s chances for renewal, as are a good portion of us who to care to weigh in on such things, but that hasn’t stopped series star, Jason O’Mara, from offering up what he thinks the show could do better should a second season be commissioned. I have to give the man chops. He didn’t write the series, so he cannot be blamed for the usually terrible writing that plagued it. As it stands, he actually has really great ideas for how to improve Terra Nova.
First of all, in order to save money, O’Mara told TVLine he would hold off on using the dinosaurs. He thinks if they’re going to show a dino, it should be an awesome one; one worth showing. He’d also like to see more action take place in 2149, I imagine to switch up the scenery a little bit. Those jungles, while beautiful, don’t need to be all we see. Showing us what is going on in the future could open up interesting story opportunities.
The last two things he suggests are completely what I’ve been wanting from this show. Firstly, O’Mara wants more mythology, something the series all but avoided as much as possible. Only towards the end of the season did any mythology become important. That was a struggle to get through for me. Secondly, there needs to be “a really, bad, bad, bad guy.” Lucas was okay, but he appeared in only a few episodes. If this show is going to do a villain, make him someone with a presence. O’Mara’s ideal bad guy would be played by Sam Neill, but considering he’s busy with Alzatraz, he’ll settle for James Earl Jones. Now, if only Terra Nova would be renewed.
Fantastic start ti what could be a great series, given the chance. Ithink there are not enough of these good family viewing type series. Please, give us more!!
i’m not one for more 2149, i’d rather see a helicopter or something in terra nova to see more of the new world rather then just right at base, enemy base, outpost or a few jungle scenes. could be tied in even with the portal being destroyed, something along the lines of they already have it in terra nova since the 4th pilgrimage and forgot about it because everyone was scared to be in the air with the dino’s. i mean this is a new earth they’re on, what’s it look like, is there snow somewhere? deserts? i’d rather see more exploration outside the gates of terra nova then what’s going on in 2149 if the show comes back
honestly not a bad idea and they could use the bermuda triangle as the location of the teleporter in 2149 and have in the badlands all the things that have disapeared there wind up in terra nova!
Yep, said the same thing… has to be the Bermuda Triangle. Really want another series, don’t agree with the bad writing though… think there could be more accents aswell, like English.
Hopefully Terra Nova get renewed. I think the show was done well and no need for changes. It would be a shame if the show isn’t given another season. hey, Fox kept That 70′s Show for ten years or around there. So, why cancel a good show? There’s not much to choose from. I’m sick of “reality” shows and “talent” shows. It’s great to see some with imagination like Terra Nova, Fringe, and Alcatraz. Oh, and if Fox needs to cancel anything, cancel Glee! Really!

I hope they renew Terra Nova for a second season! We enjoyed it and the season finale showed us that if they allow it to have a season 2, it will be very good! I’m so sick and tired of the stupid, mindless reality shows and comedies that aren’t funny! Terra Nova was well acted and interesting and has a lot of potential.
We have so much dribble on the networks. Do we need more reality, idol trash, comedy shows that are not amusing, and glee. Please let us have a few programs that challenge us to examine our behavior, beliefs, obligations and encourage us to think. Terra Nova was not perfect but it does have potential. Modify the focus away from cute kids and vegetarian lunches to meatier issues. I showed my support by pre-purchasing the first series and if you renew I will favorably consider the products of sponsors.
I agree with these comments. Terra Nova was worth watching and we as a family ENJOYED it. Please no need to change it or cancel it but there is other shows that we are tired of or didnt like to begin with that can be cancelled. Please Please let Terra Nova have a season 2. We were interested in the show and was excited to see it again.

I think they should finish what they started. I mean a second season is a chance to make improvements and adjust things to make it better. To give up so quickly is dumb,as the story goes on new ideas will arise and if they actually put some passion into this show it could have a lot of potential. I was really into this show and I know a bunch of others who were too. Also as stated before it is nice to see something other then talent shows and reality. Those get boring after awhile because it’s the same things over and over, just different people.
Please keep it! It is the only show that my husband and I can watch with the kids!!! Fox please listen we keep you in business!

we loved it it was not too violent as most even kids programs are these days and it was not filled with half naked women which was also a refreshing change for a family program not enough dinosaurs i reckon but we loved it i was hooked from the word go PLEASE PLEASE bring another series in and i agree with the previous comment about showing more of prehistoric earth and a bit of exploration. overall it was great and i honestly miss watching it!!!
Finally a show with the potential to demonstrate some real intelligence, creativity and originality. With such garbage that is being shown on network television nowadays it’s refreshing to see an imaginative show that brings with it the chance to grow into something that could help foster debate into real world issues, provide entertainment for the whole family, stimulate the imagination, educate us about Earth’s history and offer a compelling view into our potential future. Please, please if there are any intelligent or even semi-educated people left who work within the networks, please give Terra Nova a chance to demonstrate its potential.

The pilot episode took a bit too long to get going, but ever since that iv loved it. Its a shame because i think that is where it lost a lot of viewers.
I love dinosaurs, and anything with dinosaurs in, so gave it a chance it deserved, after all anything spielberg is involved in has gotta be good !!!
I was a HUGE fan of lost and nothin can replace it, but storywise and action, adventure wise Terra is pretty close. My Girlfriend struggled with understaning lost BUT loves terra nova because it is not so frustrating and answers questions quickly, with comedy and light hearted romance, as well as dinosaurs oblitterating people haha …… perfect balance!!

i would totally watch season 2 as long as it doesnt go down hill from that like some other tv shows like “The Walking Dead” the scripts are all like useless every conversations is all crap stories not even worth saying its all running around killing zombies with no storyline whatsoever. My family and I thought season1 was great we would love to see a season 2 and so on. We would also like to see LT. Wash come back they could do it easy by saying Lucas grazed her dead with the gun shot to make it look like he killed her but only knocking out to up set his father and Phoenix group took her with them and later she escapes back to Terra Nova Colony.
The whole family love Terra Nova. I hope they film a season 2. Please bring season 2 to all of the fans.
I think that Terra Nova was an inventive and imaginative series and would hate to see it over so soon. The previous replies have some good ideas and i’m sure a few good think tank sessions with the writers could make a stellar second season.

My favourite tv show since season 1/2 of lost. Really interesting plot that just kept me going, haha I watched season 1 in two days!
this show is one of my favorites!!!the only problem i had is that co tayler and his soldiers didnt get to kick enough ass.and i think more action in 2149 would be the STUPIDEST thing you could do to the show.but honeslty i finished the hole season in 3 days and loved it ty
Liked the first season but I would love more interaction with he dinos. Why not tame them, after all they allready had a baby dino in this season. Now they’re cut of from 2149 they could start using the dinos as pack animals and stuff. Like an adult Flintstones

I have to say that as a lover of the games like Dino Crisis and Turok, I am very impressed with the series and am really looking forward to the next one, the plot possibilities are endless (Lost expeditions, other civilisations, alternate dimensions, ancient astronauts ect)and I believe if given the chance this series could be Massive !

I have enjoyed this show from the first episode. It is a great platform on which to build a successful franchise. To cancel this show after only one season would be foolish as there are many different directions that this show can travel in. Are there things that can be done to improve the show? Of course there are. Such is the case with any new program, the difference is most programs do dot start off with such a good foundation with which to build off of. Please bring back for Season 2.
I agree with everyone the show started out not that great but I kept watching cause I like the thought of a prehistoric world and figuring out how to survive in it….. plus as many have said we are sick of seeing the same old American idol, survivor, Bachelor those kinda shows are not entertaining after then 3rd season. I really do hope they decide to keep Terra Nova around I can see this show being the next big thing just keep the show interesting and the fan base will start to come I know I have like 5 or 6 friends that I have talked to about this show and are now interested to see when season 2 will start… Word of mouth people.

We have been behind the “8 ball” when it comes to inventive television compared to the Britt’s. Dr. Who has a world wide audience and it has run for nearly 30 years. Dr. Who was slow to gain interest in the US due to the Grain Fed nature of US TV. We have very seldom offered inventive creativeness, we go for the cheap thrill of SEX, VIOLENCE, and OTHER PEOPLES MISERY.
FireFly today would be a hit, Terra Nova is becoming a Hit, it has an ever growing audience, this growth will not wain for the simple fact, it stands nearly alone as intelligent, creative, and just plain interesting.
I am a DIE HARD fan of Fringe, however the story lines are heading to a deep hole that the writers seem intently on digging. The end is Nye and well I will be greatly saddened to not see it, but when the creativity is lost the inevitable happens.
Let Terra Nova offer something no show has ever offered in the US, INPUT from the viewers (except for Dirty Jobs). The collective minds of the viewing audience, distilled by a writing staff, could offer inventive ideas that would take the shows into directions and intrigue this media so needs…

It’s to late now to cancel such a great series. My thoughts on this is that they should continue growing in Tera Nova bass lands, the island an the jungle part is so imaginative, I don’t need to see more of future 2149… I would agree Tell Fox if they wane canceld a show it should be Glee, what a total FAIL.. So don’t leave us hanging without a season 2 or even more, I enjoy this show more than any of the others.

Terra Nova gives families the opportunity to watch TV with their kids. It is educational, exciting, and a wonderful series. I, just like everyone who wrote a comment before me, am sick and tired of reality tv! Mindless! The hills? Jersey Shore? Big brother? Glee? I could never get into any of those shows and after watching just one episode (won’t name the one JS) I felt my IQ drop! The problem with this show is that shows need commercials, and the show is controversial. I mean we are talking about fortune 500 and large corporations that don’t consider the effects of their waste or carbon footprint, it’s very political. If I were these companies, I would want to advertise what “we” the company do right to reduce the carbon footprint, a better source of energy/clean energy etc. type of commercials and ads during this show instead of back lashing at the network to get the show off the air!
I loved this show. The start was amazing, the middle started to get a little dull, but in the end it managed to pick itself up and finish strong. While I understand that the show is supposed to be a family drama, i would actually like it to become a little more serious. I also like the idea of 2149 becoming more prominent. Maybe there could be two parallel storylines, one in the past with the people in Terra Nova trying to find out what the whole ship mast thing means, and one in 2149, where they are trying to get back to Terra nova, or something similar. I would also like to see more exploring of the surrounding area besides the jungle. More diversity in scenery, such as going from lush jungles to scorching deserts to towering snowy mountains or something to switch up the pace. Also, since they killed of Washington, we need another awesome, badass supporting character to “replace” her. I think it could also use a much more driven storyline, instead of the “case of the week” kind of format that is overused nowadays (Alcatraz, Person of Interest, The River, etc.), and focus more on a straightforward plot.
Terranova needs to go on. Once lost ended this became my new favorite show. I love Terranova 10 TIMES MORE the lost. Terranova takes you back into the bast and show’s you a terrible future.
