WALKING DEAD Season 2 and 3 Word

The Walking Dead AMC

Next month will see the return of AMC’s The Walking Dead, which still has six episodes of its second season to air. With the Television Critics Association press tour having recently taken place, a lot of information regarding the future of the show has come up. Some of it is pretty obvious material, while some is rather cryptic. One thing is perfectly clear: The Walking Dead will be around for quite some time, delivering gruesome zombie fun.

The first new episode of the rest of Season 2, “Nebraska,” will air February 2nd and TVLine compiled a list of things we can expect to see. A scene was shown, depicting Hershel drunk as a skunk with Rick attempting to bring up his spirits before someone (censored for spoilers) interrupts. Following the reveal of Sophia’s death, Carol and Daryl’s relationship will be put to the test. Despite fans believing otherwise, no, the zombies in Season 2 have not been getting faster. Zombies just have variable speeds. Some are slow; some are quick. Robert Kirkman failed to give a yes or no on the rumor that comic book character Michonne would make her appearance. Shane and Rick’s rivalry will continue to build, putting the rest of the survivors in a difficult position. Following in the footsteps of the comic, there are no plans to reveal what caused the zombie outbreak.

EW.com also reported The Walking Dead’s third season was given an extra three episodes, bring the total from 13 to 16. That is great news! The third season will likely also be split into two parts, with the first eight episodes beginning to air in October and the remaining eight airing sometime in winter 2013.
