GAME OF THRONES Season 2 – War is Coming!

Something magical happens whenever Game of Thrones puts out some type of promotional material for the upcoming Season 2. HBO could put out the simplest of poster designs, as you can see from the image above, and it will drive fans into a frenzy of longing and happy frustration. We get the faintest glimpse at new material and we all go mad for it. We can’t get enough of whatever HBO will give us, no matter how insignificant it may be. If it has anything to do with GoT then it must be worth more than all the world’s riches.

The latest promo image for GoT Season 2  doesn’t even contain the words Game of Thrones anywhere. All it says, and really all it needs to say, is “War Is Coming,” along with the April 1^st premiere date. Aside from the slightest hint of fire in the bottom left corner, this poster is dark and empty without the words. How is possible that a show can become so easily identifiable and important that its promo artwork doesn’t even need the show title? I don’t have the answers and I’m okay with not knowing. As long as I get to watch GoT when April rolls around.

So on behalf of everyone out there who succumbs to a giant nerdgasm whenever GoT is mentioned, I salute you. I don’t understand our obsession, but I wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world. Long live Game of Thrones!
