As we gear up for Hollywood’s latest trend in film making – regurgitating fairy tales, several films come to the forefront when it comes to the visual aspect. One of those films is Snow White and the Huntsman. In a twist to this fairy tale, the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth), who is initially ordered to take Snow White (Kristen Stewart) into the woods to be killed, ends up becoming her protector and mentor in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen Ravenna who is played by the incredibly beautiful Charlize Theron.

In promoting the film, Universal has been releasing images on a regular basis for the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman. Here at Boomtron we have assembled the latest in the released images courtesy of In the images shown below, we have photos of Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth in the middle of a battle, as well as Stewart facing an epically huge creature.

Drawn from the tales by the Brothers Grimm, Snow White and theHuntsman adds to the seemingly endless parade of movies or television shows aimed at children stories gone dark or horribly wrong in some catastrophic way. What Hollywood didn’t realize is they didn’t have to any further than the original story, for example, in the original Snow White story, the evil queen dies dancing to death, forced to wear red hot iron shoes.

What I don’t understand is in what world – Hollywood created or otherwise – is Kristen Stewart “fairer” than Charlize Theron? As Leo Choy of Optionated says, “As the incarnation of the Mirror said to the queen in the trailer, “You are fairest, but there is another destined to surpass you.” Meaning that Stewart is not the fairest yet. A bit of foreshadowing, especially if the Queen is killing anyone that looks remotely attractive, once Queeny bites the dust, Stewart will win by default; two of the sweetest words of the English language. Dee Fault!”

Check out the photos for the film below, and watch for Snow White and the Huntsman which comes out in theatres June 1st.
