Natalie Portman Double Dips with Director
Even Academy Award winning actresses need maternity leave. After winning the gold for her role in Black Swan, actress Natalie Portman took some time off to have her first child. She’ll be back in action very soon and we have the report that two new roles are in her future.
Deadline announced Knight Of The Cups and Lawless with both feature performances from Portman.
Knight of the Cups will kick off filming this summer with a wonderful cast. Joining Portman are The Dark Knight’s Christian Bale, The Hobbit‘s Cate Blanchett and Immortals actress Isabel Lucas. She was the beautiful Athena! If you thought that cast was lovely, wait until you get a load of the actors in the second picture.
In Lawless, Portman joins Ryan Gosling, Bale, Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett! You’re probably wondering why Portman, Bale, and Blanchett are in both films. Well, I’ll tell you why. Both movies will come from director Terrence Malick. I guess he knows who he likes! Shooting for Lawless begins in the fall.
You might be familiar with Malick’s current contender for the Oscar for Best Picture. It’s called The Tree of Life and it stars Brad Pitt. This is the first time Portman has ever worked for the director, but perhaps, even after two films back to back, it won’t be the last! We’ll have to wait and see. When we learn more, so will you!
