Nina Dobrev and Salvatore Brothers in VAMPIRE DIARIES Sweep
We are now knee deep into the shark infested waters that is February sweeps, a time during the year when every show will attempt to grab the attention of the masses by using epic stories, stunt casting, and big explosions. Letting us know they have entered the treacherous waters, The Vampire Diaries has released a new poster to promote itself during this month of (usually) great television. The poster features the pretty faces of Elena (Nina Dobrev), Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and the Salvatore brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Using humanity’s obsession with things on fire, Vampire Diaries places a huge bonfire among the attractive cast. Sitting in the middle is the quote “Betrayal burns.” Man alive, there is so much that can be taken away from this poster. First of all, who is the betrayer? One would assume it would be one of these four. Klaus is easily the most likely candidate, but that’s a little too obvious. It would be fantastic if Elena betrayed someone, just for the drama. And what is the meaning of that bonfire? Is it a literal or a metaphorical fire?
I love it when characters are harmed in a serious or fatal way, so I’m itching for someone to be completely blindsided and end up as close to death as possible. Preferably with fire so this poster doesn’t go to waste. It really is fun to look at, especially Nina Dobrev’s image. She is one gorgeous young lady. Those guys really don’t know how lucky they are.
