Once Upon a Time – Who Rockstar in Wonderland

Once Upon a Time ABC

It seems like ABC’s Once Upon a Time is putting together an Alice in Wonderland themed episode and has already cast a member of the rock band, the Who, in one of the many iconic roles from the story. The episode will be titled “Hat Trick,” suggesting we’ll be seeing the Mad Hatter in the episode. Now, I know the immediate thing to think when you hear about an Alice episode is Alice will be the featured character of the week, but may I remind you that we’ve seen the backstory of Jiminy Cricket but not Pinocchio. I think it’s safe to say that the star of a particular fairy tale isn’t always the star of Once Upon a Time’s flashbacks. I’m thinking “Hat Trick” will likely feature the Mad Hatter.

But enough about that, we want to know which Who member is joining the cast and who he is playing! EW.com reported Roger Daltrey would be voicing the talking caterpillar. That seemed a little anti climactic, didn’t it? You were probably expecting me to say he would play the Mad Hatter since I talked about him so much earlier. Classic misdirection! Nope, Daltrey is simply voicing the caterpillar, and though it wasn’t said, I would assume he will not have a Storybrooke counterpart, making his performance entirely voice-driven.

Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are likely very excited to have Daltrey playing this part. They’ve said in the past that the Who’s 1975 rock opera Tommy was a large influence on Once Upon a Time.
