One Tree Hill Star Sophia Bush Finds New Home

One Tree Hill Partners CBS

One Tree Hill may be on its last legs that doesn’t mean its leading lady, Sophia Bush, isn’t ready to find herself a new home in another series. Sometimes it can be really hard for an actor or actress to move on from one project to another, especially if it’s a series that has been running as long as One Tree Hill. Bush isn’t the only actress looking for a part in a pilot. While her experience on OTH gives her an edge over greener actresses it doesn’t necessarily mean the pilot she’s doing will be picked up. You just never know what you’re going to get in this business.

Deadline reported Bush was moving away from the hour-long drama shows she’s become so used to and has landed a role on a comedy. The pilot in question is from CBS. It’s a half-hour multi-cam sitcom called Partners. It follows two friends for life who have become business partners in their adult lives. Just to spice things up, one of them is gay while the other is straight. It could be interesting to explore a friendship like that. It’s not one that is usually seen on TV (with Happy Endings being a glorious exception). Bush will be playing the girlfriend of the straight guy.

Partners comes from Will & Grace creators Mac Mutchick and David Kohan. The two definitely have experience with exploring odd friendships. If you remember, Will & Grace was about a woman living with her gay best friend.
