SERENA for Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper

Serena, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper

Two blue-eyed up and comers in the realm of Hollywood are about to re-team for a thrilling new indie drama called Serena. It was news to me, when I learned that two of my favorite actors, Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, had already worked together once before. This means I’ll have two movies to see in which I can check them out in action.

She’s the break out star of Winter’s Bone and X-Men: First Class, who is currently shooting the much anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games. He’s the star of The Hangover, seemingly the world’s biggest comedy ever, and the thriller, Limitless. They both acted in The Silver Linings Playbook, adapted from the novel by Matthew Quick. Silver Linings is scheduled for a November release in theaters, and was directed by The Fighter‘s David O. Russell.

In Silver Linings, Bradley is a former high school teacher who moves in with his mother following his release from a mental institution. After failing to reconnect with his ex-wife, it appears his neighbor, acted by Jennifer, enters into a relationship with him.

It’ll be deja vu then, as NY Mag confirms, when Cooper and Lawrence begin work on the set of Serena, based on the book by author Ron Rash. Serena is set in 1929 North Carolina, where a pair of ultra-ambitious newlyweds conspire to launch a timber empire. As husband and wife, Copper and Lawrence are near unbeatable, until circumstances cause the pair to turn on one another.

Then, a very serious and very deadly rivalry begins. I must say, I’m eager to watch that one! Susanne Bier will direct, filming will begin soon, and when we have more details, you will, too.
