Evil Dead

Power up the chainsaw because it is time for a fresh Evil Dead update. You heard it right here when the cult horror role made famous by Bruce Campbell was announced to be transferring to a female actress for an Evil Dead re-make. In fact, it was Snow White actress and Abduction co-star Lily Collins who seemed to be circling the female version of Ash, but today, we’ve got the latest on casting.

Hottie Shiloh Fernandez, of Red Riding Hood has just won a role in the picture, according to Variety. And according to Deadline, he’s joined by actress Jane Levy.

The film will be written and directed by Fede Alvarez, and like the 1981 film before it, will follow a bunch of teens stuck in a cabin in the woods, who open the Book of the Dead and awaken some out of control demons. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell will produce the re-make through Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures.

The hero, by the way, is still a female, but instead of calling her Ash, she’ll be called Mia. Mia will be acted by Levy, who is currently starring on the ABC series Suburgatory. Looks like Lily Collins is out. Diablo Cody gave the script a look over. Should be loads of scary fun. When we know more, you will, too!
