Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Break Bread High in the Clouds?

Does Robert Pattinson want to be a squirrel? The Twilight star has been choosing his roles carefully lately in order to distance himself from his long time character Edward Cullen, but as far as separation goes, this one takes the cake!

Pattinson has the wheels of the rumour mills turning as he and girlfriend Kristen Stewart sit down to an intimate lunch with former Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney. Hollywood Life reports that the trio had lunch at La Cuisine restaurant inside Le Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, France. Rumour has it that McCartney may have been discussing Pattinson’s role in an upcoming project.

McCartney has written a children’s book entitled High in the Clouds. The story is about a young motherless squirrel, named Wirral. Yes, that’s right, Wirral the Squirrel. Wirral embarks on an adventure through the secret island of Animalia with only his mother’s final words, and fellow animal friends to guide him on his journey. A deal has been in the works to bring High in the Clouds to the silver screen and it could be that McCartney is looking to get his grasp on Pattinson to voice the young Wirral.

The film has not yet cast any character but could Pattinson be the first? Even though casting has not officially begun, the film already has some high profile names attached to it. Directing the animation will be the Lion King and Stuart Little director Rob Minkoff, and tasked with writing the screen play is Caroline Thompson who is famous for Edward Scissorhands.

Pattinson is not likely known for anything more than his smoldering Edward Cullen voice, so lending his talents to Wirrel the Squirrel will be something completely different for the actor. Never-the-less Pattinson fans will follow him where ever he goes.  If he choose to accept the lead as Wirrel his fans will support his choice. In fact, it seems his followers look forward to hearing his voice in the animated film despite its huge departure from the Twilight series, stating that his voice is “hot anyway” and he would make a “perfect squirrel”.
