Kristen Stewart versus Charlize Theron in 60 Seconds of Snow White
Audiences will have the luxury of two Snow White films to choose from this year and even though they contain, in essence, the same story, the two films couldn’t be more different. The first to be released is Mirror Mirror which stars Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and Lily Collins as Snow White. This one is a more comedic look at the story, paralleling Disney’s version of the naive princess and the sinister queen. Snow White and the Huntsman on the other hand is a darker look at the fairy tale with a bit of a twist in the story.
Boomtron is bringing you a look at the official TV clip for Snow White and the Huntsman. The clip, which can be seen below is a sixty second preview of the film which will be released June 1st. The video paints the dark picture of Snow White’s land as it is taken over by the Evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron). Snow White is forced from her home into the dark woods and into the company of the seven dwarves. Though this is the typical story, here’s where it gets interesting. Instead of having a very tiny part in Snow White’s life, the Huntsman portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, trains the young princess in the art of war. The Huntsman becomes her mentor and teacher in order for Snow White to reclaim what is rightfully hers.
The trailer makes Snow White and the Huntsman look like a very good movie indeed, however, the downfall of this version would have to be Kristen Stewart as Snow White. In no way do I believe her to be “fairer” than Charize Theron. And although I’m sure I’ve just enraged all the Twilight fans out there, Kristen Stewart does little to convince me she’s an actress. I fear it will end up being more lip-biting than actual acting on her part. To balance the scales however, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth are two actors that would draw me in to this film. Even in the trailer Theron is a convincing Evil Queen – beautiful and malevolent. Theron can sell any role.
Hemsworth having come off the success of Thor and going in to The Avengers has proven his ability as a hammer swinging action hero, so portraying the Huntsman should not be a stretch for him. I’m sure there is a prince in there somewhere but the movie doesn’t focus on the romance aspect. Snow White and the Huntsman will focus more on the princess coming in to her own so to speak with the aid of the Huntsman turned fierce warrior.
If a family friendly movie is what you’re looking for then Mirror Mirror should be your choice, however if you want something a little darker and a little more action-packed, set your sights on Snow White and the Huntsman. Don’t forget to check out the official TV trailer for Snow White and the Huntsman below!

Absolutely agree. In no way on this planet will Kristen ever surpass Charlize in the fairer stakes. Even in the trailers and pics it is clear that Charlize looks awesome. Kind of evil beauty that makes me want to root for her.
