We are just days away from having a happy Hunger Games! It was the Suzanne Collins best selling novel and now it is the exciting new film crashing into theaters on March 23rd. There is so much to look forward to with the Hunger Games debut. There will be a premier of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn part two trailer. We will finally meet such beloved characters from the book in the flesh. And we’ll get to watch as Katniss interacts with both young men in her life, Peeta and Gale.

Speaking of Gale, he is acted by Liam Hemsworth and right here and now you can view a clip of Katniss saying good-bye to Gale from the film. Katniss is, of course, the talented young upstart, Jennifer Lawrence. Katniss and Gale come from the coal mining district in a dark vision of our future. They have both lost their fathers to the mines and despite their young ages, have had to step up to provide for their families.

At the start of the book, Gale is simply Katniss’ best friend. He’s the only person apart from herself she can trust to keep her family alive. They’ve spent hours in silence together and know each other in a way only two hunters can. But it isn’t until they are ripped apart and Katniss is faced with Peeta, the baker’s son, that she starts to think of Gale romantically. It doesn’t help things when her relationship with Peeta puts her on a roller coaster in the midst of the deadly event known as The Hunger Games.
