Nathan Fillion Joined by FIREFLY Crew in CASTLE

Castle ABC

Just in case Nathan Fillion was missing his days on the short-lived but beloved sci-fi series Firefly, ABC has gone ahead and cast one of Fillion’s former Firefly co-stars for a guest appearance in a spring episode of Castle. Out of the cast, who would you want to see Fillion reunite with the most? I’m sure most fans would prefer to see Summer Glau or Alan Tudyk, but my vote will always be for Adam Baldwin. And guess what: I get my wish.

Fresh off his starring role on NBC’s Chuck, which managed to last four seasons longer than Firefly and just had it’s series finale in January, Baldwin will reunite with Fillion when Fillion’s Castle character becomes desperate to follow a case investigated by Det. Ethan Slaughter (Baldwin). True to Baldwin’s character, Slaughter (great name by the way) is described by TV Guide as a rough and tumble cop from the city’s gang unit. He will show Castle a dirtier side to the police force than Castle is used to seeing and it will cause him to question just how far he is willing to go to solve a case.

Needless to say, it’s exciting to have Baldwin back alongside Fillion, who has expressed his excitement over the casting. It’s not nearly as exciting as another season of Firefly, but at some point we all just need to let that fantasy fade. I’m just happy the show managed to continue on in other formats over the years.
