Prometheus still looks Awesome!
“If you go down there, you’re going to die,” warns a stern Charlize Theron in today’s fast-paced teaser for Prometheus. The Snow White and the Huntsman actress plays Meredith Vickers in the upcoming film. If she seems a little cold in this clip, it could be because she’s only on the expedition to protect Weyland Corp’s interests.
In the original Alien, touting the company line was the android’s job, remember? Of course we didn’t know he was an android for a while. In this reboot and almost prequel, there is another android with the crew. He’s acted by Michael Fassbender and he’s described as David, the ship’s butler. I must say I’m very excited to see the horror that befalls the crew from his point of view.
“If we don’t stop it, there won’t be a home to go back to!” That’s a line you’ll hear from Noomi Rapace portraying the team’s archaeologist, and a character hopefully as tough as Ripley was in her day. The challenge will probably be to be tough, but believable and human at the same time.
Prometheus, the sci fi event of the year, will be delivered to theaters on June 8th. It’ll be available in Real-D 3D. According to this latest teaser, the Ridley Scott film is not yet rated. I wonder why. Could it be flip flopping between PG-13 and an R-rating, do you think? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Alien, the 1979 film, was rated-R for gore, violence, and language. One thing is for sure. Prometheus still looks awesome.
