Ridley Scott’s Prometheus – Two New Trailers with Rapace and Fassbender
Director Ridley Scott will take audiences back into the horrors of the cosmos beginning on June 8th. That’s when Prometheus debuts. This film is shaping up to be quite the adventure and today we have two all new trailers. One introduces the film in IMAX.
I thought the UK trailer was really something. It’s one to watch a few times, in fact. Physicality could be the key word for that one, as we met the new heroine facing a harrowing ordeal. You know what they say. Curiosity killed the cat. But today the key word is horror.
Prometheus stars former Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Noomi Rapace; X-Men First Class star Michael Fassbender; Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland, CEO of Weyland Corp; Takers actor Idris Elba; cutie, Logan Marshall-Green; and Snow White and the Huntsman temptress Charlize Theron.
Alien was pretty epic in its day and is still remembered as a classic. Prometheus also has amazing, enormous vistas in store for us, but never forget that science fiction aside, Alien was a horror flick. Thank goodness Scott hasn’t lost sight of that. From the clips in today’s trailers, it seems like our new crew will face one frightening thing after another.
All three trailers (yes, I’m still including that UK video, too) spotlight Noomi Rapace. I suspect everyone will be talking about the actress and of course comparing her to Sigourney Weaver. Is she praying in that scene where she is scantily clad and drenched in sweat? I’m hoping that means we won’t just encounter monster horror here, but some psychological frights, too. Body horror should also crop up given some scenes in these teasers. I’m also looking forward to meeting an android Michael Fassbender. Who am I kidding? I look forward to Fassbender in any role.
