Supernatural! Misha Collins back in “The Born-Again Identity”!

At long last, Supernatural fans will be able to see Misha Collins back in next Friday’s episode, “The Born-Again Identity,” and we have the pictures to prove it! I think it’s safe to say Collins will be reprising his role as Castiel, but it’s also safe to say he won’t be playing the same version of Castiel we all know and love. It’s been said for some time by showrunner Sera Gamble that Castiel wouldn’t be exactly the same as when we last saw him, in more ways than just how he dresses (you’ll notice he isn’t wearing his trademark suit and trench coat combination).

In the episode, Sam finally succumbs to his hallucinations of Lucifer and suffers a mental breakdown, which sends him to a mental institute. Dean, being the hero he is, sets out to find a way to save Sam and is pointed in the direction of a mysterious healer. That healer turns out to be the long-thought dead Castiel. Naturally, many questions come up when you simply say, “Cas is back and he’s not dead!” We’ll just have to wait and see, although I think the episode’s title gives us a nice clue.

You’ll also notice there’s another familiar face in the car with Dean and Cas. I do believe that’s Rachel Miner riding in the back, reprising her role as the Meg Masters demon. Now what on God’s good Earth could those three be doing together? The questions keep piling up. March 23rd had better come soon.
