Supernatural Season 7 – “Party On, Garth” Promo Images
Supernatural is bringing back one of Sam and Dean’s few allies, who has miraculously managed to hold on to his life, in the upcoming episode “Party On, Garth.” As the title of the episode suggests, the returning character will be the chilled and relaxed Garth, as previously portrayed by DJ Qualls. He was last seen in the episode “Time for a Wedding” where he managed to get under Dean’s skin with his subpar hunting tactics. You can see Garth’s return in the promo images down below.’
The only images featuring Garth show him apparently on a hunt, tossing a match into a grave. Presumably, he’s setting fire to the bones of some spirit. Now whether or not this event has anything to do with the rest of the episode, which features some pretty bizarre stuff. I’m hoping Garth’s little bonfire takes place in the opening. That’s too simple a solution for one of the craziest spirits this show has ever created. You can see Dean brandishing a katana, facing off against a creature greatly resembling something out of a Japanese horror movie (think The Grudge, or The Ring).
This thing is a shojo, a Japanese spirit. Here’s a fun fact: the real-life shojo is supposed to be red-faced and have a fondness for alcohol. Somehow I don’t think Supernatural is playing this one by the book. Certain liberties need to be taken to make this shojo as scary as possible.
