NBC’s Grimm Spice Flow Upped

Bree Turner a Grimm Regular
Sometimes when a show is on the verge of being the best original program on a network, all it needs is a little extra spice to push it over the edge into true excellence. NBC’s Grimm, which is one of the network’s few shows guaranteed to be back for another season (its second), has taken recurring actress Bree Turner and promoted her to a series regular position, believing her character has a lot of story to add to the young series. This further shows NBC’s confidence in Grimm, which has proven itself in a very tough timeslot on Friday nights. If it can keep this up, Grimm just might be given a prime timeslot on Mondays (totally just my opinion).
Bree Turner plays the spice shop proprietress and Fuchsbau Rosalee who was first introduced in the episode “Island of Dreams.” Her brother Freddy was killed and he left her his spice shop to look after. TVLine reported her promotion to regular would take affect when Season 2 begins production, so she will be remaining a recurring cast member for the remainder of the first season. So what does Grimm have in store for Rosalee in the second season?
The big joy of having a new main character to play with is having someone else with a backstory to explore. We know that at one time Rosalee was a drug addict and she belongs to a family of fox-like creatures. So why not take a trip down memory lane and meet some of the people she was involved with during her druggie days, or introduce some of her family members? We could see how someone besides Rosalee feels about Freddy’s death. There is certainly a lot of potential to be mined from Rosalee. As for Turner, besides Grimm she can be seen in an upcoming adaptation of the Jewtopia musical, starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.
