Game of Thrones “Blackwater” Prep
“Blackwater” is Game of Thrones’ penultimate episode (update: see our Game of Thrones: Blackwater review and share your thoughts!) of the second season and airs this Sunday on HBO, and for readers it’s also the experience of the television journey through George R. R. Martin’s novel, A Clash of Kings. It’s also the episode of this season that’s written by Martin himself. Not only did Martin pen the episode, but the director is Neil Marshall, who was behind the amazing horror film The Descent. Earlier in the week HBO released clips, images, and even a poster (which is not something I recall as being the norm) for the episode. On the surface, “Blackwater” feels rather eventy in a manner usually reserved for season finales.
The first clip below is a bit of an overview of the War of the Five Kings, so it begins with events that I’m assuming viewers had to have already seen, while the second is a teaser of “Blackwater” itself.
