Grey’s Anatomy Season Finale “Flight” – Watch the opening!

Grey's Anatomy ABC

If you’re a Grey’s Anatomy fan who isn’t afraid to spoil a couple minutes of the show’s Season 8 finale, “Flight,” then, boy, do I have a treat and a half for you. ABC released a video showcasing the opening moments of the finale and I have to say, it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’m sorry, but that’s a giant lie. It’s exactly like something I’ve already seen. It’s just like the opening scene to the Lost pilot from 2004. It’s true. Meredith essentially serves as Jack, with Cristina doing a surprisingly good Vincent. I honestly could not shake the Lost vibe this video was giving off. I’m sure the episode becomes its own thing, but wow, the similarities were staggering.

“Flight,” airing this evening, picks up right where the last episode left off, with Derek, Meredith, Lexie, Mark, Cristina, and Arizona having crash landed while in a plane. Now, plane crashes don’t automatically scream Lost to me, but the way Meredith woke up in the middle of the woods, Arizona screaming (just like Shannon did), and the later revelation that the back half of the plane had torn off, I had trouble not seeing it. And of course, people are missing. Thankfully, unlike Lost, the questions we have will be answered, and the survivors quickly find Lexie, who is awake and responsive, and only Derek seems to be unaccounted for.

But I’m sure Derek will turn up (I have it on good authority that he does), which leaves the only unanswered question being the whereabouts of Cristina’s shoe. If you can’t wait for the finale to air tonight, why not sit down for a couple minutes and enjoy this video,  just for you. See if you can find any other Lost-like moments. The person who can find the most wins a prize! My respect. The ultimate prize.
