Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez Bring Springbreak Heat

If it wasn’t official already, let it be known that Vanessa Hudgens and Selena Gomez grew up good. I was just remarking on ineffective teasers when talking about a recent Dexter promo, and now I’m struck with the exact opposite with these Springbreakers images that I caught over at Collider. I probably still won’t watch it, though am not against the notion in any way, but I’m defintely at least taking a gander as it walks on by. Springbreakers stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine… and James Franco. It’s directed by Harmony Korine who wrote the ’90s childhood crusher Kids. I was a part of that generation and Kids, for a minute, was just that movie that was being passed around for something other than entertainment (though hindsight diminishes it quite a bit).

The boys over at Criminal Complex talked about Springbreakers before giving you the wrap sheet on Korine and why this may be the fast lane through hell out of the Disney princess scene (something I think they liked). Springbreakers debuted this month via sizzle reel over at Cannes and was picked up for international audiences, and will with little doubt land U.S. distribution sooner rather than later while planning for a 2013 release.
