American Horror Story Season 2 – Is Jessica Lange a Crazy Nun?

American Horror Story FX

At long last we’ve been given details on what Jessica Lange’s character will be like in American Horror Story’s rebooted second season… sort of. The plot, setting, basically everything about this new season has been a tightly kept secret with only vague specifics – oxymoron intended – given every now and then, so it comes as no surprise the new information isn’t as revelatory as you might have expected. Still, what we are given is enough that we can at least begin speculating in a more precise way. And by precise I mean come up with really bizarre, oddly specific theories that probably have no basis in reality. Let’s jump into it!

According to TV Guide, Lange’s new character – she still doesn’t have a name for some reason – will be an administrator of an East Coast mental institution. But the fun doesn’t end there; Lange will also be playing a nun. Pretty crazy right? A nun who works at a mental institute. I swear, only Ryan Murphy could come up with something like this. This is quite different from her original character of Constance in Season 1. While she still had a belief in God, Constance was hardly a good little nun. At one point it seemed like Lange’s new character was going to be running the institute, but it seems like that idea has been shelved. Now a man – played by Joseph Fiennes – will be running the joint, and will function as a sort of temptation for Lange. I wouldn’t mind seeing a series with a nun driven to dark extremes for a man she’s hot for. Of course, that sounds more like an erotic thriller than a horror story.

American Horror Story Season 2 will feature a few of the cast from Season 1, such as Zachary Quinto and Sarah Paulson, as well as new cast members, like Adam Levine and Chloë Sevigny.

About Brody Gibson

+Brody Gibson studied film in Vancouver, BC. I originally intended to become a video editor, but realized I have a passion for writing. To say I love television is a bit of an understatement. I watch it religiously, think about it constantly. To be able to talk about it is one the best things in the world. Combining that with my love of writing gives me the opportunity to express my opinions to the Internet masses and start gripping conversations.
