Bunheads Bring in Big Gunn to Bash

Freshman series Bunheads has had some positive buzz surrounding it since its premiere on June 11th, and it would appear the young series is hoping to keep the good times rolling by acquiring as many television veterans as possible, including Gilmore Girls’ Sean Gunn. The comedy-drama is has been borrowing quite a few of Gilmore’s former talent, including Kelly Bishop, Rose Abdoo, Gregg Henry, and Chris Eigerman, so it’s only a matter of time before Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham pop up as well. As for Gunn, his role is an interesting one and will be seen in the August 13th episode.

According to TVLine, Gunn will be guest starring as Bash – short for Sebastian – an award-winning barista, well known for brewing a mean pot of coffee. I can’t help but chuckle a little at the idea of this. An award-winning barista? Is that a real thing? Somebody please tell me there’s a committee out there that looks at all the coffee shop baristas and votes on who should win the coveted Best Brew Award, and that there’s a banquet with famous hosts and everything else that would make it a huge deal. If that’s real, I want to attend. If baristas receive awards, maybe there are awards for other small jobs, like burger flippers.
Bunheads is an interesting series, and now is the time to check it out while its still brand new. It follows a former ballerina who became a Las Vegas showgirl. To get her life back on track she agrees to marry an admirer of hers who moves her to the coastal town of Paradise. She starts teaching ballet alongside her mother-in-law, where her students are the only people in the town who seem to like her. Whether or not her decision to rush into a marriage was a good idea remains to be seen. I suggest you try out Bunheads, especially if you’re a Gilmore Girls fan.
