Hunger Games Sequel Catching Fire Targeting Johanna Mason?

Lions Gate is reloading their Jennifer Lawrence led Hunger Games franchise with Catching Fire coming at us next, but first they have to take care of the business of casting new faces for us to bring to life the characters of Suzanne Collins’ book series. We’ve already heard some rumors circulating about Catching Fire casting, including having some dismissed by actors like Taylor Kitsch himself, so let’s get to some more, this time circling back to the ladies of Catching Fire. Namely, Johanna Mason.

Playlist is reporting that two names, Mia Wasikowska and Zoe Aggeliki are in consideration to take on the role of Mason, a character who befriends Katniss and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) in the next film. Most of you are probably are familiar with Wasikowska who has headlined big name director’s projects, like Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones, Gus Van Sant’s Restless, and Park Chan-wook’s upcoming Stoker and several others. Zoe Aggeliki… Zoe Aggeliki is really hot, a young model recently turned actress who you will be able to catch in the next Percy Jackson movie, The Sea of Monsters, where she will portray Silena Beauregard, the demigod daughter of Aphrodite. I can buy that.
Playlist suggests that Aggeliki may be closer to signing a deal. Catching Fire will be directed by Francis Lawrence and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 22nd, 2013.
