Or it could be the other way around. Either way, Demi Lovato has put down rumors that she and Niall Horan, the blond Irish member of the British boy band One Direction, are in a relationship. Fans of both Lovato and Horan, and the media placating to them, have been discussing the possibility due to recent words from both Horan and Lovato about each other, including Niall mentioning spending time chatting with the former Sonny with a Chance star when he visited Ryan Seacrest.

THR reports that Demi Lovato goes on to say that it’s not just the One Direction star she doesn’t have time for currently, and that Niall, as would anyone at the moment, has to take a backseat to both her career and herself . As you probably may know, Lovato’s current gig is as of a judge on X-Factor, which both she and Britney Spears were recently signed up to join Simon Cowell and LA Reid to repalce last season’s X-Factor ladies, Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. You will be able to catch Lovato when X-Factor season 2 returns to FOX this fall, on September 12th.

Niall Horan fans, you still have a chance. Not really, but it’s not because of Demi Lovato.
