Jennifer Connelly Closing in on Aronofsky’s Noah

Last week we told you that both Emma Watson and Jennifer Connelly were being mentioned as possible additions to Darren Aronofsky’s next project, Noah. Reports now indicate that Connelly has now officially been offered the role, which was previously thought to be between her and Julianne Moore. Connelly would play the wife of Noah, who will be portrayed by Russell Crowe. If Connelly accepts the role it will be a bit of a double play for her on reunions, as she previously was in Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream and starred opposite of Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind, a performance that garnered her the Academy Award.

The report by Variety indicates that Emma Watson is already locked in as (something I didn’t see noted elsewhere after it was noted they were interested in her – she was being mentioned for the role of Ila), which would round out the cast that already includes Ray Winstone, Logan Lerman, and Douglas Booth. Aronofsky is coming of Black Swan which starred Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis, which garnered a Best Film nomination as well as a nod for Best Director by the Academy.
Paramount is aiming for a March 2014 launch for Noah.
